I’m a fan of productivity yet I fail to be productive now and then.

Living with no free time is how you can jeopardize your life. As people say, busy ones are always wasting their time. They either tend to have too much on their plates or lack the prioritising skill. But some of them are officially procrastinators.
Get my weekly planner to work on your goals, and reach them closer week by week. It helps you stay on your goals by associating your everyday tasks with its main goal. It’s minimal and less distractive. Go, get it!
Do you know that you can always finish a task before the deadline? All it takes is our focus.
There is no perfect way to predict how long a task can take. The good news is, you can always optimize your everyday tasks.
Cycling to your work or school could always take the same 20 minutes unless you change your pace or leave at a time when there is less traffic.
Cooking breakfast always takes 20 minutes unless you decide to prepare it faster.
Just like that, everyday tasks do not take much time until you change your pace or change something about it. If you look at all of the examples, you may happen to procrastinate.
When procrastination is easier than productivity, why not use it for your own good?
I broke up with my coffee
I’m a procrastination junkie. I used to feel shame about it until this happened. Every day at 4 pm, I leave my desk, walk to the kitchen, prepare a cup of coffee, watch as it releases its aroma, and inhale deeply before taking the first sip.
4 pm is not too late for a caffeine boost. Still, I struggled to sleep at night.
I knew it was my coffee habit. When I decided to break it, I procrastinated.
One day, I sipped water and told myself, “I will do it later”.
Another day, I encouraged myself to read some exciting articles at 4 pm and I stuck around in my desk.
For a few days, I found one or the other things to do for at least 30 minutes when it was coffee time. I made myself wait till 5 pm. Then, I told myself it was too late for coffee. Just like that, I skipped coffee for 5 days. After a week, I eventually lost a craving for it.
Breaking Bad Habits
The perfect and doable way to break any bad habit is procrastination. Let me give you some examples of how you can do it.
Are you using your phone too much before bedtime?
Do not charge your phone until it’s an hour before bedtime, then charge it on the socket that is not your bedside. This will force yourself doing something else rather than scrolling your phone before bedtime.
Do you find waking up earlier really difficult and tiring?
Practice waking up when the alarm hits. But lie on your bed with your eyes open and get up whenever you feel ready. This way, you will get used to waking up earlier without getting cranky.
Wrapping Up
Now you might have gotten an idea of how to procrastinate so you become productive, break your bad habits and use your time for your purposes.
I’m not endorsing procrastination. It’s still bad if it stops you from reaching your goals or your tasks at work. Depression, boredom, knowledge deficit and a lack of enthusiasm make us delay whatever we intend to do. Find out why you avoid any work. It will help you fight your resistance.
PS: I love coffee, it’s just that I wanted to see whether I’m addicted to it. It looks like I’m not! Yay!
At point I used to be up by 3 am - not sure if it was the coffee intake or lack of sleep - now I have a green tea around 4 pm and it doesn't affect the quality of my sleep - I still wake up early though
Thanks for the kind mention 💙
Thanks for the tip Yana! Green tea could help I believe.
