Medium and Substack are the best choices for this
Once I failed as a blogger because I was trying to promote my blog with Instagram. What a rookie mistake! Out of nowhere, I ended up with Medium again. I’ve been posting on Medium since February 2024. It’s slow in terms of growth. But I gathered around 100 followers in a month. That’s a kind of boost for me. I also earned my first passive income through Medium.
Yes, I love it!
Do followers on Medium matter?
I do not think so. I can see that only my email subscribers have actively engaged so far. Other than that, I get non-followers to engage with my content. My views are pretty bad sometimes! It’s still oddly satisfying to write sometimes. I remember writing in a desert( (my first blog) waiting for someone to pour water. It did not happen. Did it? Medium is far better than that.
Why should you write even if there are fewer views?
Although the views are meagre, there are people still reading my work. Most of the time, people comment on my post. It’s those comments that keep me going. I also got one person who disagreed with my point of view. That’s pretty cool.

See I find nice people boost me up and they enjoy my writing. Just because I do not get views, It does not mean that I’m not good at writing. That’s why you should keep writing until the algorithm has no choice besides listing your article to millions.

I follow many top writers. Everyone suggested that waiting to start your newsletter is a waste of time. Start already. So I swallowed my self-doubt and started “The Soulful“ newsletter. Although I told myself first to gather subscribers(free) and then start writing, I could not wait to start this newsletter.
